Keith Jacobs has found himself a radio hit for the ladies with his most recent single, “Saucy.” At a time when hip-hop dominates the Billboard charts, he takes a different approach by bragging about his lady’s swagger rather than his own. The beat is built upon the repetition of a simple guitar line, but Jacobs’ melodies are far from repetitive. His lyricism on the track are a highlight as well, with lines like, “She go for whatever she wants, 4thdown with no punts,” and “She’s so 90s, gin and juice.”
“Saucy” gives listeners a taste of the Houston artist’s talents, but the track’s smooth production by Jean-Robert Redwine is another major strength. Since he began in 2006, Redwine has worked with popular artists like Tinashe, Waka Flocka Flame, Zendaya, Jeremih, G-Eazy, Chris Brown and Ludacris.
“Keith is a modern evolution of the best feelings we grew up listening to and all the musicality it took to capture those classic feeling in our lives,” said Redwine.
Keith Jacobs’ “Saucy” is the current single from his forthcoming project, Title TBD, which is set for an October 18 release. He will be performing in his hometown of Houston at the House of Blues on June 26thand is making his Essence Music Festival debut on July 6that the House of Blues in New Orleans.
